Welcome Rose Lynn Watmough!

Dave and Kelly and both sets of Grandparents are thrilled to introduce you to ROSE LYNN, born on Tues, Sept 19th at 2:57 am. at 7 lbs. and 6 oz.

Ed and I managed to get up for a visit when she was only 4 hours old! Kelly and Dave were in terrific shape and were 'instant parents'. That protective Watmough gene came through another generation. Dave cut the cord, and Kelly's Mom was there to assist. Kelly was"a trooper" as David says, and looked great.

Rose is very popular and we booked her and her parents for Sunday supper to show her off( only 6 days old). Great grandparents Des and Leone, Great Aunt Russanne and Sarah, Great Uncle Doug and Russell, Katie and Emma made sure Rose was being spoiled! We think she looks a bit like Dave, especially when we took out his baby book! Dave finished off some university homework while Grandpa looked after his little girl.

'On the Spot' Art Exhibition

We invited the new family to Spot Light Gallery to see the 'On the Spot ' art exhibition...Rose's first art show and only 10 days old! I saw her little hand go up, and it should have a paint brush in it!!! Here she is with Great Grandma Leone.
We invited local artists to be part of an international paintout sponsored by the Alberta members of the Oil Painters of America. Unfortunately, the weekend we decided to go out to paint was the coldest weekend on record for Sept! We were very pleased to have 18 wonderful plein air pieces to exhibit.
People are invited to come and vote for People's Choice 1st, 2nd and 3rd. As well, we had sponsors in Canada and the US who donated prizes for the artists. Our local Gazette will be doing a feature on the winner.

We will have a full house for Thanksgiving and to celebrate all the Sept/Oct birthdays. Turkey Day is one of our favorites.
Here's wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving and we hope to hear from you soon!

Holidays/September

Welcome to the Watmough News. I hope you enjoy the family news and we welcome comments (only nice ones!). We can be reached at lwatmough@shaw.ca or you can comment at the end of this post.

Holidays
Ed and Mike went White Water Rafting at Overlander Fall and really enjoyed it. Ed was the first to hit the water and float down the back stretch! They did some camping and met Laura in Kelowna. They drove her to Penticton for her art workshop with world renowned Wild Life artist John Banovich. She was happy to stay there as the boys headed to Vancouver and did the Whistler Mountain ZIP LINE! That got a 10/10 rating. They returned to Penticton via a few wineries. After picking up Laura, they made it back on the long weekend and Mike had already missed 3 days of school...ooops.

Dave and Kelly are awaiting the BIG EVENT! Dave is home from Ft.Mac. and into his last year in Civil ENG. They are housesitting close to the University for the next year. Just the perfect first home for all of them!

Tom and Kristie are enjoying the apartment and the two cats. Tom purchased his first car..a blue Shadow and is off to a new job at Ecol Electric in the warehouse. We are all betting on grandbaby dates as Kristie's birthday is Sept 29,Ed Oct 2, Tom Oct 7th and Kelly's due date is Sept.23!

Tom and Kristie came over for the now famous "All At Once Omelet" . We mixed up our own version of omelets in a plastic zip locked freezer bag and dropped them all into a Dutch oven of boiling water. We put the lid on and cooked them for 13 minutes. Viola! Perfectly cooked and shaped omelets slide right out! This may be our Christmas breakfast with red and green peppers!

Mike went to his first Rock concert and saw Avenge Seven Fold and did the mosh-pit thing. He has also been out driving with Ed, and getting the hang of it. He's working at Ricky's Restarant as a 'dish pig' ( dish washer to the rest of us) and enjoying the paychecks.

Ed and Mike have decided to give scuba diving a try, so are busy organising lessons for this fall. Laura's art school is starting this week and she will be busy until Christmas when she hopes to take a break in a warm locale!

The 60 k Walk! They Did It!

They did it! Kim and Laura walked 60 k in the Weekend To End Breast Cancer! After raising 0ver $2000 each ( THANK YOU EVERYONE!) Kim and Laura walked from the Agricom -Legislature grounds-109th St Bridge- Cross Cancer Institute-Lendrum-South Gate- Whitemud Freeway- West Edmonton Mall area -YMCA in 8 hours! They tented overnight and were up and at it by 5:30 the next morning! The walk continued to Stony Plain Road-Westmount- St. Edmunds-Queen E and O'Leary School-82 St-Agricom! There were only a few blisters and sore muscles. They had lots of support on the way that kept them going.
Kim had over eight family members to dedicate the walk to. Laura has many students , family members and a painting buddy( Dianne) to walk for. It is truly amazing what a person can do if they try.
